BBC presenters and pop stars abusing children, who can we trust?

As you’ve probably seen spread across the news and newspapers over the past few weeks, Jimmy Savile’s sex scandal is top headlines. Savile was a BBC presenter in our parents/grandparents generation but the truths are only being uncovered now, after his death.

Women are now coming forward to tell their horrific stories of how Savile would visit hospital wards, children’s care homes and even schools to attract young girls and then lure them into his car. As a familiar face he was well known and trusted. These girls thought he was a star, someone who wasn’t capable of the things he did.

Child abuse is a serious issue all over the world and the fact that the BBC employed this man only makes these claims and accusations even more horrific. As teenagers ourselves we need to ask, who can we trust? When we live in a world where the most inviting people could possibly be sex offenders then it makes it pretty hard for us to judge people.

Jim can’t fix this scandal.

The face of Jimmy Savile is one that we all know. As a BBC presenter he was part of our daily routine on shows like Jim’ll Fix It and Top Of The Pops.  His bubbly personality and charming presence is now something that has been slaughtered due to new evidence that has recently surfaced and his reputation is definitely something that can’t be fixed.

Various women have stepped forward to tell the police about their traumatic experiences with sexually frustrated Savile. Many have even described how Savile used to visit children’s homes and hospital wards to carry out his disturbing deeds.

The BBC have been in complete disrupt due to these allegations as Lord Patten has been arguing that there has been no corporate cover up during this scandal. Where as the Metropolitan Police are now investigating into 120 different inquiries, some of which are said to have happened in the presenters dressing room on the set of his BBC shows.

With vile stories like this coming out about Savile, its no wonder that his grave stone has been smashed to pieces and that some family members have dis-associated themselves from the vile man that we found so caring.
